Yo Pacikk [of Romulan origin?]

I read a small flood of advertising about the Zoom products; then, the advertising vanished. Read negative and some positive comments about Zoom multitracks.

I would suggest the Yam AGW 16 is a better all around SIAB.

And, there are the newer Korg units that look pretty cool.

For the bucks, the 16 is a good deal. I use the Yam 2816 and it is a quality sound product.

You can go to the AGW or AWG 16 site and get a trainload of information. Don't ZOOM into any quick decision.

I can say that I have a Zoom 1266cd along with some other items. I have Sonar, Fruity Loops, Reason, and other software that I merge along with my Zoom.
I have learned many of the ins and outs of the Zoom, and I still learn new stuff every day. If you have any question in particular, I can try and give you my opinion. But I enjoy most of the options that it offers. Plus the fact that people stress the number of tracks to record on, Zoom 1266 is a 10 track recorder, but by bouncing tracks you can end up with plenty of more, and you'll lose no sound quality. If you prefer Hardware vs computer recording, for the money you can't beat it. It's all a matter of taste, and what you're trying to accomplish with your music. I find it easy to use, I can just sit down, set up the Zoom and bash out anything that I have already prepared to do. The Artist I work with have even learned the many features of the Zoom....

Good Luck

Trizza

Cheers people for your messages. Unfortunately I come from a small island where there really ain't much to choose from. This is the best thing I could find for semi-serious home recording...Can you believe that I'll probably have to get Shure mics off the net? That's the reality I'm facing. The shop I'm buying this thingy from is very thrustworthy. I'm not really ready to buy something like a multitracker off the internet. For starters I don't even have that much credit on my visa

But anyways cheers alot people. Appreciate it.
