SX1 Controlled by Tascam DM-24

have search the forums as hard as I could to find a good way to use the DM-24 as a controller for Cubase and haven't found what I was looking for.

I have used the Generic Remote method from the Tascam webiste and had an OK time with it. I would like the Jog/Shuttle wheel and the transport to work a little better. I also would like to have a srub/curser switch I really don't have to use the mouse. Can the HUI emulation mode do that? I tried to HUI emulation mode (just by trying to figure it out myself and from tascam.com pdfs) and had no luck getting it to work at all.

What does everyone else use that has a DM-24? I would like instructions, stories, comments...really anything so I can understand the best way to use my DM-24 with Cubase. Right now I am frustrated and want to buy a mackie control for it, but can't justify another 1000$ on top of the DM-24.
