Recording Schools question
Hi,
I want to make a living as a recording engineer. I think a formal education would really help me. I heard of a school in Canada www.pacificav.com The website says it is only $12,500 CAN for one year. The schools here seem to charge so much more. Can anyone give me some advice? |

How about Middle Tennessee State University's Department of Recording Industry? http://www.mtsu.edu/~record/index.html
Yes, it's a dumb name but their program has been in operation for quite a long time and they've got a very good reputation. |

There was some "remote education organization" that used to send us "intern" types - We'd have to test them every so often and help them through certain types of projects...
Haven't dealt with them in a few years - I'll see what I can dig up on them... John Scrip - www.massivemastering.com |

the reason for the name, is it has 2 different departments "production and tech" and "music buisness".
I'm going there now, its pretty cool. I haven't gotten into the good stuff yet though. It really gets you invovled with actual music industry people. like next week Steve Albini is speaking at our AES meeting. they're building two new studios right now, so we will have 5 studios i think. Mr. Master snuck in between post. so to clarify im talking about MTSU. |
