Could use some posting help...

I'd like to post some pics but don't know how to shrink them to fit as an attachment. They're too big right now (on my PC). Is there any other way of posting pics besides as an attachment? I don't think so, but figured I'd ask. And I don't have a website to put them on, so that might be a problem...no? Any help would be appreciated as I'm new to the digital camera thing and the software that came with it kinda stinks to work with. Thanks in advance.

If the camera has software for editing you should be able to reduce the image size. Or, save for the web which will compress it.

Use Microsoft paint that comes with windows. Open the image in paint, Then go to "IMAGE" -> "Stretch Skew" and give 30% in both horizontal and vertical.

If your pics are jpeg, resave them and reduce the image quality to about 75. That should reduce the size to under 200 kilobytes which isn't too bad for sending as an attachment. Most mailhosts won't let through files with more than 2 megs of memory so that's your goal. Get the size below that.

If you don't want to reduce the resolution of the picture there is software that allows you to break it down into chunks to send. The only problem with that is the receiving party also needs to use that software to reconstruct the picture.

Thanks for all your input! I used the "paint" idea and that seemed to work fine. The software that came with my camera is horrible and doesn't allow me to do much. Thanks for all the suggestions. I've posted a couple of pics in the "Studio Building" forum. More to follow.

It's nice to find a place where you can actually get help. I've found numerous ideas here. Keep up the good work!
