Custom drums..
Is there a cheaper alternative to custom drums than DW and OCDP? Do the other companies out there offer as good of a service?
How hard is it to build your own kit? |

Building your own
Riolo www.amdrumparts.com will cut and drill if you purchase from him (he does good work), there are several other builders out there (www.drummaker.com). I finished a full set last year, it's not that hard. Mine sound and look as good as any, custom-sized and a third the cost.
I tried to attach pics, but too big. lemme know and I can email you pics, let you know how I did it. It's the only way to go IMO. |

Why do you want a custom drum set? If you want certain sizes I see it but if you just want good sounding drums you can get a great pearl/tama... set on ebay for under 2 grand easy.

fwiw,
u don't really NEED those expensive drum kits. I've spoken to a lot of pro's and they tell me Head Choice and Tuning will really make the sound. -dejacky
