what synth to get

I have an evolution 249c midi keyboard and i am now looking for a sound module for Trance techno style music production. Can someone give me some ideas or point me in the right direction. Preferably not too expensive, but if I really have to, i am willing to spend 'a bit' of hard earned cash.

Depends on the budget.
Virus B, Nord 3, Emu XL1 or XL7....all depends on the budget.

In terms of modules, there's a huge plethroa to pick from.

I myself own an Alesis QSR (pick one up used on eBay) that I am very happy with.

For your style of music you might be most pleased with something from E-mu. I believe they make specifically designed single rack units for your genre.

If table top is more your style. I also own the Yamaha AN200 which I can highly recommend. The DX200 should also make you smile.

Korg has the Electribe units that I believe are hugely touted for trance techno music.
