VST Instuments clipping - Home Recording

VST Instuments clipping

I am very new to Cubase SX and have figured out pretty much of my early questions through reading comments on this forum, however when I play the VST Instruments there is a nasty clipping sound every 2 seconds or so.

Any takers???????
