Anyone own or played a Pearl BRX kit? What are your opinions on it?

Smile I am a Pearl Masters BRX Studio player.

Hi there. I play a Pearl Masters BRX studio in vintage sunburst & I absolutely love it. I love the way it looks, the quality of build & how versitile it can be in every situation. I use my kit for rock gigs, jazz gigs, latin & salsa gigs & studio work & home recording & each time it reacts how it should & how you want it to.

When you want to play softly & quietly the kit will respond to that & when you really into the kit, it opens up & comes to life with vibrancy & speed. I play my kit using Remo brushed coated white Ambassador heads, they are great for all styles. Play them right & they never detereorate. The sound of the kit varies also with regards to the sticks used. For the jazz stuff I use, Peter Erskin's & for Rock I use, Pro-Mark 5A Oak's. The oak sticks really open the sound of the kit right up. These sticks take no prisoners!!.

On the bass drum I use a Remo clear Ambassador with a 1 1/2'' kick pad. I find that using a flat beater really releases the sound & a nice snap is obtained. Be careful not to play too hard because, it's will ruin ya' new skin.

Hope to hear from anyone else out there that agrees that these kits are just the best kits ever. Please post a reply. Thank's for taking time to read my review,
Craig.
