Hi all, another question. Is it possible to back up data from the 788 via SCSI onto a PC hard drive, instead of the CD-RW. It all sounds as if it should work but before I pull my PC apart to attach a SCSI conector I thought Id ask...

Hi,
Hey, I recognize "philboyd" from the former Tascam hosted 788 forum. I sure miss that... but this forum site is great. Anyway, from what I know, phil is 1/2 correct - it won't work. However, the 788 SCSI port is not "just" outgoing. When you restore backups from the CD-R/W the port is "ingoing" as data goes into the 788 from the CD-R/W. Also, Tascam wired the SCSI port in their own proprietary way. Essentially, they used a SCSI connector/cable cuz it's readily available but they wired it to suit their specific needs. Scott
