us-122 problem

im pretty farmilliar with recording.
but when i try to use my us-122 nothing happens in cool edit or cubase vst 428. I am gettting power and my signal light flashes when i say stuff into my mic or play, but nothing comes up in my programs.

i have no problem recording directly from my amp into my soundcard.
i called the tascam support and they werent helpful at all
does anyone know, if i need to buy a preamp or something, and connect it from my line out?

i use a US122 as well but i have never had problems like that. I found that installing the drivers were sketchy for me, did they go on easy for you ? Did you go into control panel and select the us122 for recording and playback?

thanks, im now getting a pulse when i record in cool edit, but still no playback

Make certain that you have set up the I/O correctly in the host applications' preferences and then that Windows is routing audio through the US122.
