Tascam 2488

Oh what to do ?? I'm trying to find out if the phantom power on the 2488 can be assigned to inputs A-D individually or if it's just on or off for all four inputs. There is just one phantom power button and I downloaded the manual and could find nothing about assigning phantom power to inputs. However I could not find anything that said it was all or nothing either. Anyone have any idea which it is or a tascam contact to find out?

Thanks

Talking

Yo Songs of J:

I'm going to "guess" that phantom power is routed to all 4 inputs.

However, guessing is not good so you might try TEAC or Tascam on the web and ask. They usually have an E-mail forum.

One thing though, the screen looks small.

You know what? You can probably call Sweetwater Sound using their "800" number and a salesperson would most likely be able to answer your question.

Good question. I believe Fantom power addresses your XLR's only. All or none. I could stand to be corrected on this though. Hello Tascam? Anybody home?

Phantom goes to all four XLR inputs A-D at once when on. If you need to connect a piece of gear that might be damaged by phantom power (e.g., ribbon mic), you can use an XLR to 1/4" TRS adapter or cable and run it into E-H instead, or get an external phantom power supply.
