I just bought a game port to MIDI item off of ebay for 20 bucks. I plugged it into my computer and then my keyboard. I turned on the computer and had no "New Hardware" recognized...maybe that is normal??? Anyhow, I have cake walk sonar and Reason 2.5 and what not and can't get MIDI to work in either. If there a fool proof way to get XP to recognize MIDI on my computer?

There is no new hardware there if the gameport was already present.
Are you sure that your computer has a MIDI interface couple with the game port? That is not necessarily the case. |

Have you installed the midi drivers for your sound card?

What is your joystick port? Is it the one onboard? Then you probably need to enable it first in your BIOS configuration. If it's already enabled, then you must see at least one midi port in your system. Select it...
