New at MIDI-Question

OK I have a digital recorder with midi, a keyboard with midi...What do I need to actually use MIDI??? And how much does it cost?

You should probably study up on what midi is and then decide what it is you want to do with midi.

Having Midi in the hardware you've just outlined may not help you much...

Most of the time the digital recorder will only use MIDI in order to retain or receive "program" or "effect" changes...

Where the Keyboard actually needs something like a sequencer or an external device to "tell it what to do..."

Rule of thumb: MIDI is a technical standard that transmits and receives specifically outlined information different devices... Each Device you have will react differently depending on what the manufacturer decides to include in the system...

For instance: Your digital recorder may not transmit note information to your keyboard because it is not a sequencer - it's a digital recorder...
