My New Tascam 688 Help
Hey, guys Im saved. I've been searching over this forum and I think I finnaly found some people that know their stuff.
I have just purchased a Tascam 688 Midistudio for 100.00. I bet none of you can top that! Anyway It does need to be cleaned up. So I was wondering, when I get it, how I should go about cleaning this thing. Things to check and clean, what to use to do so, and like what to watch out for. Any advice would help a lot. Also this is my first recorder of any kind. I have messed with me friends layla 24 and cubase sx but thats aall on PC. Does anyone have any websites that have info about the recording process? Like the steps to follow or anything? I know this is a lot and I can geruntee many more Q's to come but any feedback will help. Just start poring it in like you all do. Thanks, Jason |

sorry, they took away my computer at work so my being on here is now very limited, see response to P/MThe 688 is analogue, so the digi-benefits aren't there, In my opinion the 688 is one of the best to use and sounds the best of any 8-track Porta. The owners manual is one of the best tutoruls on the market for the beginer in using the porta and the recording process.......... Give it a try and chance, do the little exercises in the book that help you to become familiar with the unit, before long you will understand the process, also it shows you how to build a song step by step. da MUTT
