recommend me a good sustain pedal . . .
Just wonering if anyone has any recommendations for a good, mostly transparent sustain pedal.
What I mean by transparent is that I'm not looking for something that adds it's own distortion like a Big Muff Pie or anything like that. Just basically something that acts more like a compressor -- maybe a compressor wouldn't be a bad idea, come to think of it -- that will allow the note to ring out a lot more at a sustained healthy volume going to the amp. Thanks! |

Hey Chess,
The most transpartent compressor I've ever heard in person is the T-Rex CompNova. It's a permanent fixture on my pedal board and I love it. It does not effect your tone one iota, even with heavy compression settings. It's just like your original tone, except all of a sudden there's more sustain. The Analogman and Keeley compressors are both supposed to be very good, but I haven't heard them myself. I'm sure they are great, but there is no way they could be any more transparent than the CompNova. A www.aaroncheney.com |
