DR-770 MIDI Quesion....

I have an mc-909 sampler which has a midi sequencer in it. But personally, the drums seem to suck, what I would like is to use the sounds off of my DR-770.

What I would like to do is program the midi sequence on the sampler and then have the sampler play the instruments from the 770. I can set each midi track on the sampler to play either the internal sound or midi device or both. The trouble I am running into is how to select the instruments being played by midi on the 770. When I run the midi into the DM, it plays just a whistle or some unique percussion, I want to assign the instrument. Make since? ANy help would be dope. Thanx, pm

On the sequencer there should be a way to assign a program change on the channel that is playing. If not you will have to manually select the patch on the drum machine before playing the sequencer.

If it is playing the right kit but not the right notes then you need to see what notes each drum is assigned to on the DR770 in your manual. Then you have to use those notes when you program the sequencer.
