What Do I Need?

Hi, I would like to record my own voice and a little music onto CDs with the computer. But I have no clue on doing this? If someone could please tell me specifically what I need, that'd be great. I can't seam to find much help. I've heard something about a sound card, but I have no idea what that is, where it goes or what type I need. Do I have to get a certain type for my computer (which is a Dell Dimension 2350 by the way)? Also, I know you need a mic. But do I need any other equipment? Do I need software? Can I just burn my singing onto a cd with just buying a sound card, a mic and some software or is there more to it then that? if someone could help me, i'd love it! Thank you much!
