SR40•8 Anything about it?

Since I need a live console for a tour over summer and the people are pretty cheap. This console on paper looks like a beast. Have you ever used one or know anything about them?

I was looking at this one since its only a hour away.

Been there, done that. Nothing really wrong with it. Pretty flexible, decent sound. Nothing much to tell...

No idea what the MSRP is, so no idea what a good deal on it is.

I saw somewhere that they're $9,000 new back in 1998 I think. I wonder what the reserve is...

How decent does it sound?

Live board to me -

If it doesn't do weird things and make stuff actually sound bad, it sounds good. I know that isn't very detailed, but that's how I remember it.

The MSRP seems a bit up there, but it certainly did have features...

Cave Dweller will become famous soon enough
the pro audio company i work for had 2 of them about 5 years ago, we had problems with their frame not being strong enough for the size of the console, even though they were well housed in quality road cases.
the lack of strength in the frame lead to stress on the circuit boards, and eventually they developed cracks in the traces.
the long and short of it is we sold them because they were problematic. we bought Midas Venice 320's to replace them. midas makes some of the best sounding live consoles, especially at that price point. i strongly reccomend you check them out.

I know Midas makes some bad ass consoles. Almost any band I see their's a H3000 somewhere. I really need at least a 32 channel for the band and they are really cheap about spending money. I even need to send at least 5 monitor mixes from the same console. I'm checkin out the Venice right now. Thanks
