Cool bass drum effect

I stumbled across a very interesting effect using reverb. I was messing around with a bass drum track. It was a standard 22” stage bass drum with nothing unique about it. I added some short verb but I rolled off all the highs and mids on the return channel. It sounded remarkably like a 24” bass drum. It had that classic John Bonum sound to it. It was not what I was looking for but hey, I’ll make a note for future reference.

Just sharing with my buds.

Thumbs up

Cool! Try this if you get a chance: on the reverb, roll off past 2-3k, but leave the mids intact. Compress the 'verb, slow attack, fast release, and gate as needed.

Same type of sound, but a little more defined.
