decisions

ok, I need you guys help making a choice on my next buy.

this is what I have

Samson CO1 condenser
Audio Technica at1567(I think) dynamic
soundcraft spirit 6 channel mixer
CEP 2,
Sound card is factory Dell, has Line in, but no midi (which I really won't use much) haven't had problems with it with the exception of latency with Sonar, but not with CEP.
I have lots of options on my monitors, I use many different set ups, I try my best to get a sound that sounds good on all setups.

I've spent lots of money so far on Software/plugins etc.

I have $200 to spend and here are the choices I have narrowed down to, I just need to make a choice of which one.

Studio Proj. C1
or, ART TPS Pre
or, Audiophlie 24/96 card

If any of you have other choices that are good, or have an opinion, let me know please. Thanx

Sound card - No question. The stock dell SB or TB or whatever isn't going to cut it.

Cool

Definitely get the Audiophile first.....

your mixer has better preamps than the Art so skip that......

with the rest of your $200 maybe get a Marshall MXLv67 or Studio Projects B1.........

ok, that's what I expected yall to say, so the TPS isn't good huh? What is good if I wanted to eventually get a new pre? And as far as the B1, I'd rather have the C1 with the pad because I record a lot of west african drums. And I've read reviews that say it sounds much better, so I'll just save a little longer. I'll probably go with the audiophile now, thanx

sound card, my man. then be looking at your mics again. i think the best you can say about the samson is, "it's quite cheap, i guess".

audiophile sounds good, then SPB1 plus some more expensive mics to go listen to in the shop!
