The 1200 Pro 1 is a rack module which was made in about 1990-1991 right about the time Young Chang acquired Kurzweil.

It has the well respected Kurz piano sounds and some of the absolutely best sax sounds I've ever heard from a synth, with aftertouch growl that is very realistic sounding. It has a good vibe sound and several very thick pad sounds, decent drum & bass, etc.

The only sounds I don't like are the brass sounds (which I have covered with other synths & samplers).

Like any module it has MIDI control of various controls - in fact for a 15 year old unit, it has a pretty broad range of programing/control options. It was a top line unit from Kurzweil when it first came out (about $1400 street price in 1990)

The 1200 Pro 1 is still an important part of my studio rig - in particular for the piano & sax sounds.
