Tascam M-50 Mod

I recently talked to someone in the TapeOp forum about modding a Tascam M-50 console. I'm now planning on swapping out the original op amps for Burr Brown op amps, as well as replacing the capacitors at the mic inputs. Apparently the change in sound is "night and day".

Has anyone else done something like this?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has made similar mods to other equipment.

I also have a Tascam 48 tape machine, would that benefit from any mods?

did you ever do this? what happened? i got my m-50 with the first 8 channels already having burr brown opamps in it. . .i'm curious as to how the sound changed though!
