Is there anything else in that price range ($600 - $900) that would be better for a 'recording only' kit?

thats my kit, i love it to death, the only real next step up for recording only kits are DWs gretch's or any kit that has a mounting system that clamps onto the rims thus not putting a hole into the drum.
