mic pre for 788?

I am searching for an affordable mic pre. Anyone had any experiences with the following brands/models:

MAudio DMP3 Dual Mic Pre
MAudio Audio Buddy
Bluetube Mic Stereo Mic Pre
Studio Projects VTB-1, Tube Mic Pre-Amp

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I were in the market I'd be looking at the Studio Projects or RNP (really nice preamp).

Don't forget a compressor.

Yo Vapors of Spring {I hope here soon.}\\

I go with Phil totally on his suggestions.

I have the RNC and it has been a GREAT addition to the work I do. Or, anyone might do!

I would have to agree the RNP is also a good product for the $$.

I use the Grace 101 which is a bit more $$ but a very good product.

I have a friend who went to Sweetwater, special trip, just to try out gear. He learned a great deal because he got his hands on about whatever he wanted to demo.

Just a suggestion.

Happy Spring wherever it is?

Yo Super Cratin:}

I have used the RNC a couple of ways. One, for vocals. Mic into the RNC, RNC into the recorder -- set the values to your ear -- very good as the voice won't crash into digital distortion.

Another use: I have many cassette tapes done on the Tascam 488 -- some are pretty good. So, I've been running them from the tape deck into the RNC and from there into the Yam 2816 -- fantastic results as the clip don't clip.

For the money, about 175 pezzutos and no shipping, which was the best price I found @ Humbucker Music, the RNC has enriched my work.

Will be doing two albums in the next couple of months: one for my HS buddy, a professional entertainer, and another for the gal who has worked with me for 15 years and helped me develop recording skills. The RNC will make a BIG difference.

Oh, yeah, there are a bunch, a BUNCH of mic pres out there; and, there are a zillion compressors for sure; any of which would probably make any person a happy person. But, for the $$, the RNC product is a good one. Kind of like the Yorkville monitors.

Cheers and Happy Spring Cratin-Au-Gratin
