Wink My Turn

Most of you know I play anything anywhere as long as it`s fun (I hope I have at least half as much fun as I`ve seen Lt Bob having ) and sometimes there`s even a buck or two... next two gigs are country, but some kicking country.

Ill be pickin with a new guy that just released his cd out of Nashville ( Sean Nelson) in Enterprise, Al. on Valentines day.

Next gig will be with Darryl Singletary in Opp Al. for the Annual Rattlesnake rodeo on March 5. Darryl is from over the river in south Ga.

Maybe I`ll be a star one day...

This isnt a horse and cow rodeo. It`s a rattlesnake rodeo!

Did the show week before last. It was quite a lot of fun. After the sound checks I reminisced with Daryl for a while on sat mornin. He's from just over the river in georgia from where I'm at. I met him back around 1989 when I was playing near his hometown. My guitar player's brother was one of his teachers in high school. He's a good country boy... and can sing a lot of styles. "Amen kind of Love" is my favored tune.

hehe, naw. We talked mostly about "Swine Time" a little event down in Climax Ga. every yr. It`s like the BBQ superbowl of south georgia, and mostly about some mutual friends in that area. Didnt talk much about music except that I had a band that played a Senior citizens dance one night and he came over and sang with us. It was a blast. Those people didnt know he was the real Daryl..

That's so cool.

You got a site? I'd like to hear some of your stuff.

Here is mine. I only put 2 songs on it right now.
Let me know what you think. The 1 with out vocals will be on the next album 2 times. 1 time as a instrumental and 1 time with a vocal cut.

I got a site up but its only got 3 tunes right now that are just some work in progress stuff, 2 are collabs with a couple other guys. One is just a bed for a tune I`m working on for a friend out in LA.
I dont have anything very recent up right now but your welcome to check it out.

Talking

"we were, once upon a time" sounds quite a bit like a Pink Floyd cut from "Dark Side Of The Moon". I love that album.

Right now Im playing bass for Sean Nelson a new guy in Nashville. He`s just released his cd. Both were asked to come play at the rodeo. I've been playing bass since I was 14, Im 50 now. I have played all over the eastern US and a some out west. THe only time I`ve been out of the country playing was in the Virgin Islands a long time ago. I play most anything, but I do play quite a bit of c and w.
that link you posted isnt working. you may need to post the whole thing.

I'm also 50. Playing since I was trying to impress the girls at age 12. Problem is I carried the darn thing around more than I played it. Till I was about 27. Then really started trying to get serious.

Wrote the instrumental for my wife.

Still trying

Wish I was playing the steel. That's a friend of mine. Another on the Keys. We are all in the back woods. But with the ability to access good equipment we can get some good sounds.
I am mainly getting into writing now a days. I'd like to get some of my stuff into the big boys hands some how.
The story song I wrote in 5 minutes. I like to put my self in some one elses shoes when I write.

I have some written "jim Stafford "Style, " Travis Tritt", "Alan Jackson", "James Taylor" , "Huey Lewis", and seceral other styles.
Neither songs are mastered, and the "In This Room All Alone" is
just a quick mix.

Your stuff sounds good too. I can listen to a lot of different styles. I really liked Herb Albert and the T Brass. Use to listen to it in my dads Mercury Montery on the 8 track car stero for hours.

I didn't realize I uploaded the vocal version of "Tollie's Song".

That's my (ugh) voc's. 30 years ago I could do a lot better. David Gates style. Exact Duplicate!!! Those days are gone.

On the other song I do Back Ups.

Now I remember why I did the vocal thing on T's song.

I don't mind downloads but the instrumental version would easier for some one to make up their lyrics to and try to file a copyright on.
Guess with todays equipment they could anyway.

I mostly just do music beds when i`m recording here at home. I do quite a bit of varied other stuff when I`m doing sessions for other folks though. At nowhere radio, when a tune posted it kinda serves as a copywrite. The original date of the file carries precedence over anything anybody might release later in case its stolen I think.

I'll put some more stuff on in a few days. I wrote 1 called "together we can stand" that is from the late 50's early 60's style rock. i was after the Roy Orbison/Buddy Holly era music and it came out killer. just have a few more back up vocals to go on yet.
The guy playing bass lives in Nashville. I don't play Bass that well.
