Cleaning Faders

Wow. first post in a long time.

The visible 'gunk' in the faders of my mr8 is not affecting the machine at all. But I'm afraid it will in time. Can anyone recommend a safe cleaning regimen to clean the faders?!

I've thought about that canned air spray stuff, but I am afraid of blowing the gunk deeper in to the machine.

Any thoughts?

Instead of "canned air," have you considered a small hand vacuum of the type used to clean computer keyboards? You can pick one of those up for about $20 at someplace like Office Max, Office Depot, or Staples.
Instead of pushing the "gunk" deeper, the vacuum would pull it away.
That is what I use on my equipment.
