mixing tracks on computer
so ive got an mr8 and want to do all the mixing on my computer. I have the full n tracks version. so do i record each track, the bounce it to 7/8 and the convert it to a stereo .wav file? is that what you guys do to mix stuff on the computer. this seems pain staking
(I am doing this right now, and it seems like there has to be a better way!)

Get wavmanager (just go to the fostex website) and you can transfer the tracks separately.

You can also use a compact flash card reader (19.99) and transfer to your puter that way.

If you use the tempo map on the MR-8, everything should stay in sync, so you can put a stereo "backing track" on 5/6 and keep transfering tracks 1-4 to the computer. That way you can get unlimited tracks into N.
It's amazing to hear these huge mixes, realizing everying was tracked on a humble MR-8. |
