BOSS ME-50 & BOSS BR-8 similar ?

Hey gang,

Long time no post. I've had a BR-8 since they came out. Know it, use it, love it. I've been trying to capture the same COSM effects from the BR-8 into a Live setting through my amps with various pedals ( I have a ton) but have not been satisfied with the sound. Finally ran my BR-8 through my amp as an effect pedal and it works great but I can't change patches without manually turning the value dial....I need instant change for lead tones and rythmn.

So....I bought an ME-50 (COSM effects). I'm trying to get as close to the BR-8's COSM sounds.....it's kinda close but not 100%. Also realized I needed two FS-5U footswitches in order to change patches up and down....sigh!

Am I trying to find the impossible ?
Any thoughts or suggestions in regards to using the ME-50 would be greatly appreciated.
