Should I use Windows 2000 or XP with Cakewalk 9.0?

Cakewalk doesn't support PA9 with either of those OS's. Primarily because PA9 was written and released before both.

However, to my knowledge some people are running it successfully on them - although I think it's somewhat hit and miss.

Personally I would try Win 2000, for no other reason that it's closer in age to PA9.

You should use XP with Sonar.Even Sonar 1 is much better than PA9.
Xp is solid.

Running PA9 on XP ..... works fine for me, yet I only care for audio recording .... not the MIDI type of peson.
