sonar3 will not send sysex to my keyboard

i can get sonar to upload the sysex file for everything (banks and programs). but when i try to download them back the the keyboard, the keyboard does not respond at all. i have an alesis qs6.1. any ideas what i'm doing wrong? i've tried all sysx bank outputs.

i got this to work for my drum machine with no problems.

Hmmm, I'm not familiar with Alesis QS6.1, can you search that there must be some setting/function on it to enable sysex transmit and recieve. I know most Korg keyboard/synth had this function... If it works on me, then it must work on you, unless your keyboard didn't support it

i was thinking that too. i checked all over the manual and i couldn't find it. you would think that it would be in the sysx or midi section if there was an option. i made sure that receive bank/program changes option was on, but that was about as close as it came to option. thanks for the reply though. i'll check the manual again.
