What else do I need?

I have a sansamp bass di, to record direct to soundcard. But, I want to monitor via headphones while I record into sonar. My setup is not that great and latency is an issue right now.

Question. Is there something out there that will allow me to go from sansamp into say a heaphone unit then into sound card? I also want to hear what is being played back from sonar while simultaneously recording my bass.

thanks
jdog

btw- my behringer mixer sucked at this.

will this do? I'm so confused!

Anyone got a spare .02$?

I looked at the m-audio usb mobilepre today and wondered if that would work for me.

Additionally, from trolling these threads I've read that it is not a true 24/96 card. But I noticed a sticker on the box that read "24/96."
The specs read something like 4 in 4 16 bit, and 2 in 2 24 bit. What's this???

I just want to listen to playback and record my bass without latency thru headphones darnit!

yours,

J-Dog

dont think its the behringer thats the problem

the problem is your own computer's latency. now as for hearing your bass through the headphones, your windows mixer has a recording level for the mic in and line in and also a playback level for those too...turn up your playback level for the mic in or line in or which ever one you are in. if your going direct in for the bass then you dont need to put on headphones anyways. just let your speakers play it. as for latency. if your trying not to spend any money on anything then just get the SB Live and some more memory to help the latency

Thanks for the reply. Money is not a problem. OOPS, let me rephrase that. I'd say that $150 is the ballpark I want to stay in for something that gives me a soundcard AND something to plug headphones into. So, that is why the mobile pre caught my attention.

Thanks,
JDog
