Question Opinions wanted on the UA M610 pre

Who here is using one?

Characteristics? I was told this pre will color the signal somewhat. Are you using it on vocals and/or acoustic instruments?

Are you happy with it?

Would you recommend?

I record vocals and acoustics instruments only.

Thanks,

Earl

I have the UA2610, and I use it on vocal and almost everything else. Acoustic sound incredible. Yes it will color your sound a bit, but because it is a channel strip, with hi and low shelving eq's and variable mic impedance, you can tailor the sound pretty much any way you want.

I would say get it, you will not be sorry. I have a few other high end preamps, neve, focusrite etc, and I always go to the UA for the versatility and sound.

Hope this helps.

dano,

Helps a bunch!

I'm going to order one tomorrow from a major national center which sells guitars. My guy there told me he can get it for me for $850.

Thanks again,

Earl

Hey my friend -

Also try sweetwater, you might get a better price, plus you get LIFETIME tech support, phone support, and sales support. Plus if you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it for store credit, OR, They will actually cut you a check for the full amount !!

Pretty amazing. I use them exclusively now just for those reasons mentioned above. If i have an audio advice i need, and problems with anything basically, I can call my sales engineer, and get immediate attention.

Plus like i said, their prices cannot be beat, and you dont have to pay tax either !

Good luck-
Dano

oh yeah here's link - "www.sweetwater.com"
