Conklin Electric Guitar?

What's up with these? Right now i play a bottom of the line PRS, but I saw one of these on ebay and damn it looks smooth!!I've never heard anything about them, except they're pricey...

Got bored, did a search for Conklin and pulled up this old thread.....

I play two of these guitars. Granted, they are extended range instruments, but that's Bill Conklin's field of choice.

By and large, they are the best sounding and best playing guitars I have ever owned. They are pricey, but you get what you pay for. The first thing I noticed was a bridge humbucker that was responsive to the tone knob. I was floored. I always play a guitar WITHOUT an amp first. I wanna know what the guitar sounds like, not the electronics. Those can be changed if need be. Conklins have a great sound dry.

I sold off two Strats and, currently, only own an HM Strat.

For those who may be thinking - alternative metal punk who lives on the B string cuz it's low.....I use the lower B string only when needed. It allows me to have a fuller tone at the higher regions of the neck, especially within a classical piece.

If you get a chance to sample one of these guitars - give it a whirl. If the big manufacturers gave as much attention to their claims of master luthiers, then it might be worth the price tag on a Paul or Strat. As it stands, they feel like commericial pieces of crap. The vintage ones, back when they still cared about their product istead of the bottom line, those play & sound wonderful. But if you gave me a new one, I'd sell it within the week.
