This site will illustrate concepts. As far as blueprints, does your dentist work on your teeth for free. Architects, engineers and designers are no different. At least where I come from.

Metal studs yeild a lower STC than wood studs- wood studs are ok though- there's alot of methods for wood framing depending on how much space your able to use- (i.e. staggered studs, resilient channel, etc.) If Im talkin greek to ya- then you got some work to do. As for your second question, Id say you probably want tempered glass- Im sure someone else can recomend thicknesses- you'll want 2 panes installed at angles to each other- (i.e. not paralell)

Seriously- read here - Rick pointed ya to an indespensable resource! http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html
(and if you woulda looked closer the first time you woulda seen that there actually ARE example studio plans )

Materials are important. Technique is more important. Before you go buying Etruscan marble because it has the highest STC rating, you should be realistic about effort needed to pull it off.

For isolation, one of the best conventional approaches is cinder-block filled with cement or sand. Of course, this is a whole different skill set from wood framed building, which can also be effective with double walls and proper structural isolation.

The aforementioned SAE pages have very good basic theory about construction.

If you're looking for plans and more detail, get the Alton Everest books. They're on Amazon and invaluable resources.

Good Luck!
