Roland Studio Pack Pro??

Does anybody here use this system or have experience with it?
Thought I'd try this forum too, since it's a Roland product.

I need 8 simultaneous ins, and a mixing interface with real faders.

I'm new to PC recording and trying to put together my first set-up. Looking for something similar to the porta-studio experience, but PC-based. I want something affordable, but with out major flaws?? Budget is about $1000-$1200.

Any thoughts or alternative suggestions appreciated.
