Monsterpop,
Assuming you already have everything hooked up to your pc (if not let me know and I will tell you), I've found the easiest way to do what you are talking about is using Goldwave. It has an easy interface that makes this process almost exactly like recording a CD to cassette on regular stereo equipment. It has meters where you can set your recording level before you actually record to make sure there is no clipping. It has a great help file that will walk you through the whole thing. You can get Goldwave here: www.goldwave.com

nothin!
i dunno what its all about mate.

1.In Musicmatch Jukebox you need to set the "source" to record from "line-in".It defaults to your computers CD Rom Drive.

2.Go into the Advanced windows mixer settings and put a check beside "line-in".What version of windows are you running? In windows 98 and ME you just click the speaker icon in your taskbar to bring up the mixer settings.

When the mixer is pulled up click on "Options/Properties/Recording

You'll see "Line-in" located in this section.Put a check beside it then click OK.

A new box will pop up with the Recording Properties levels and all.Put a check under "line-in" and push the volume fader up(located right above where you put a check in the box).

Thats it as far as recording from a line-in source goes.

Monsterpop,
What Kramer said is what you need to do. According to what OS you have you need to enable and turn up the line-in volume. I've used MMJB and media player and Goldwave is much easier.

If you're still not getting any sound after going through those steps,it would seem that you need a new sound card......just a guess.

if you are recording from vinyl you will need to ensure the turntable is plugged into a hi-fi amp and you take a send from the tape outs, as the output level direct from a turntable needs to be amplified enormously.

I was referring to the "Line-In" on your soundcard being bad,not the whole sound card.

Plug into the line in like you are doing. Open up Goldwave. In the little box where the play, pause, record, etc. buttons are there should be something you click on that will open up and you can turn up line-in volume and enable monitoring of the line in signal. Do this and see if you are getting a signal. The meters will be moving.
Another thing is to right click on My computer and hit properties. Go to device manager and see if your soundcard is enabled, if the device is working properly, etc.
