D-90
hi, i am new to the homerecording bbs, but not so new to recording. most of my own experience has been with 4 tracks and adats. i did go to the recording workshop in chillicothe oh in 2001. and now i have finally saved up some money to buy some gear. i want a digital recorder, but right now just need 8 tracks. i have had a little experience with the D-90 and i really liked it. i have been looking on ebay to find one. what are your thoughts on this machine? strengths/weaknesses? thanks in advance, hope to spend a lot of time here now that i found this forum! hope that i can help others also.

Great machine....
You will need a decent mixer, (Mackie or better!)
But If you find one for a good price you will have a nice setup. You can always add another unit and they will sync together with a midi cable and fibre optic. Have fun; Dom ![]() |

I'm not familiar with the Alesis, but if it has tape sends and returns on each channel then life will be easy for you. Alternatively you would use sub-group outs to the recorder and bring the returns into individual channels.
I use a D160 through a Soundcraft 24/8 and it is a nice easy setup to work with. ![]() |
