setting up living room/bedroom recording

okay, I am going to rent a house in a few months and set up the living room and a room or 2 more of it for recording. I dont have demensions or materials of rooms yet because i have not gotten a house yet. But i was just wondering what bare essentials would be needed in an average living room for acoustics. The lower in price the better, most of my money is going into the house, and more mic cables. so far all i plan on doing is hanging a few blankets. but i am sure other things would be much better. Thanks for any help

-Brad

Make some panels out of Owens Corning 703. They help to tame just about any room for pretty cheap.
