Is an Ampex ATR700 good for mixing down to?

It's stereo 1/4 inch and in good condition. Anyone have some history on it? Is it a decent machine?

Hi there

Ampex ATR-700 is a nice machine, actually a Tascam deck hiding inside.
I had 2 in the past that I used and they are good.
It was several different versions of your deck, Ampex came out with 6 different models with head and speed.
From fulltrack mono to 4-track and a extra space for a fourth head (2-track or 4-track used only for playback mode.
