"procrastination" studio...
well, seems like I finally aquired a digital camera, and so I thought I'd share what I've been working on, seemingly forever.
I started this 4 years ago, putting a room over the garage, 24x24. Intent is just as a personal project studio, so I won't be dividing it up into control room, etc. anyways - some photo's b-h |

another shot
this of my Tascam 320B mixing board - this thing is an absolute gem, and they're relatively cheap on the market now.
20 channels, only 4 busses, but direct outs on every channel, and good pre's |

reel-reel heaven
well not really (pun intended) as an Otari would be nice, but...
on the left is a Tascam X-3, a 3 head 1/4" stereo, and on the right a 38 |

a view of the mixing desk area
I built a custom top for an old computer desk, with a bridge holding a 2 chnl compressor, 2 chnl 15 band EQ, and a 2 chnl efx processor, so that they're located right above the mixer for easier patching
on the slide out drawer from the desk is a Fostex Dmt-8vl, digital 8 track - I usually record to tape, mix to digital, then burn from here to a stand-alone CD burner - and I can play at any stage out thru the monitors |

another view inside
the room is 24x24, but with 4' on each side being inside the grabrel slope, the main are is 16x24, with a 13x3 slot on one side where the stairwell comes up
have hosted a few jams with 6 - 8 players fitting easily I designed the multi angle walls-ceiling on purpose, so far it sounds pretty good - but that's just with raw sound board on the walls.... sheet rocking is about to start |

MemoGtr -
actually have a collection of older fender amps -
66 Tremolux 69 Pro Reverb 72 Deluxe Reverb 69 Bassman head built into a custom 1x12 combo 97 Blues Jr 95 Blues Deluxe along with Peavey Classic 50 4x10 Peavey Mk 111 bass Peavey 600 series PA In the Fender's, nothing new, so can't really give any steerage, mostly all my stuff is blues oriented. I have gigged the Pro and the Deluxe with good results - tho old, they are reliable - beyond that, depends alot on what sound you want, and whether or not your a heavy pedal user - I'm not - very comfortable with my P-90 LP, a wah-wah, and one of these amps. Have done a band demo for a former band, and had a few friends in for a jam, and did a disk off that - need to find some host space and will put something up. b-h |

fine collection there BH, I've played through most of those, but I love the blues delux, the old tremolux is cool too, hmm and so is the delux reverb.... oh hell, their all great! ...nice space too! Your just about the point where I am... however, I wouldn't call it procrastination.. its called "honey do's" lists Had my share of em too. Seems like I've been chasing this "studio" thing for 20 yrs. But I finally have a space almost the size of yours, and I've just now got my plan down. Now to implement it......hmmmm, think I'll watch a movie first. fitZ ![]()
