mixing down a 4-track recording?
i get the feeling this question is asked a lot, but i couldn't find any threads about it, so here goes.
when mixing down a 4-track recording, tracks 1 and 2 play fine, but tracks 3 and 4 play backwards. how can i fix that? |

Sounds like you recorded 2 of the tracks then flipped the tape over before recording the other 2 tracks of a 4-track cassette multitracker........
That's not the way it works... in multrack cassette recording, you don't flip the tape over - - you record all four tracks in the same tape direction, as if the tape were only one-sided.... When you mixdown, you have to mix down from the 4-track unit ONTO another 2-track recorder of some type. You don't play multitrack cassette tapes in a standard cassette deck....... |
