boundary mikes

does anyone ever use pzm's or the boundary effect with ordinary omni's?
the reason i'm asking is because i find them usefull for recording ambient noises - they actualy capture less sounds more accuratly, you could say they leave out the room - but haven't come across them on this forum.

pzm's. ive used them A LOT in the past. like the crown pzm's
on ohd drums or on a guitar amp. ive had good tracks with them.
can be used on a lot of instruments even grand piano.
