J-station?

Is it worth the 100 bucks or so on e-bay?Im looking for a pod/amp sim/etc. that has a digital output to recording into my Fostex VF 16 and the the j-station has one.

Has anyone used the digital output of the j-station for recording? If so,what is the quality of the recording through the digital out?

Are their better alternatives in the same price range as the j-station?

Is the Behringer V-Amp series any good?Quality sound?Digital output?

I love the J-station, and chose it over the others you mention.
Price really did not matter.

Does a great job!

Should be able to get it at a great price.

A while back they were going for around a $100 new at Muscisans friend and a few other places. Don't know if you can find any now.

Recording quality using S/PDIF is MUCH better. My noise goes down from -70db to -104db (MUCH quieter!) using the digital connection to my Echo Mia soundcard.

Love the unit.

But get it through a real dealer for $99 rather than risk getting burned on Ebay. At least you can return it if something's wrong or you don't like it.

I've owned POD, V Am, and various Roland/Boss emulaters, and I keep coming back to my J Station. The addition of bass amps is big, and the digital output.

Check my stuff at http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp...119947&T=9300.

The most recent stuff was recorded through a J Station, including bass.

Youd be hard pressed to find the JStation for $99 new from any retailer. It was discontinued, MF blew there stock out (as did other retailers) and now you have to shell out $150 new if you can find it.

kramer...the output works fine, and I don't think you'll have any gripes. What is even better though, is the computer program that lets you make adjustments on the J-station. Unfortunatly, you can only make many of these adjustments with the computer only....kinda a downfall... at least, that's what appears to me. The "deep" editing you need the manual...but then again, I suppose that can do what the computer can do too. ..different reverb types, etc. The computer screen really makes it MUCH easier.

I'd get it, and don't try to find the "best" unit. If you aren't completely satisfied (and I am sure there will be SOMETHING you might like about it), just keep it, and then get a POD too...or something else. It's a tad different than the POD, but I like having them both, along with the rat, the whammy wah....etc..

Thanks for the feedback everybody.I've looked around online and there's not any j-station's left for sale since they've been discontinued.I've checked with Musicians Friend and AMS also and they've sold their remaining stock.I can get one on e-bay for 100 dollars brand new.

Based on what you all have posted I will go ahead and buy it and like mixmkr said,I will find SOMTHING good about it even if it doesnt work out to be the all in one amp sim I am looking for...it wont hurt to have it in the arsenal.

The digital output and Bass amp sims are a bonus.

Thanks again everybody!
