mixing headphones

hey. I need to decide on headphones for mixing. Which pair are most honest/ flattest? The AKG 240 monitor, or 270 studio, in your expert opinion.
bye

they are both good.

but my private opinion: headphones are for monitoring/prelistening rather than mixing. I'd better look for decent monitors

Both are fine headphones but I'd NEVER mix with them. Things happen in free space that you don't get with headphones. I only mix with monitors.

Sorry to jump on the band wagon but, it's so true.It doesn't matter how good the phones are.Any mixes I've tried to do with phones had to be totally redone.Even if you could learn to compensate for levels and eq, the stereo positioning will be totally off.
