Question

today i bought a Boss DR770, seems to be a great drum machine,(i'm a midi dummy btw), tried to sync it up to my roland vs1680, it sync's, starts playing when "play" is pushed on the 1680, *but* if i stop and fast forward to a new point and hit play again, the DR770 continues from where it stopped, how do i get it to sync to what measure i'm at?
thanks!!

Trevor.

You should record your MIDI SYNC track into a Tempo Map, and not just only use the Midi Clock. The Tempo Map knows at witch place you are in the song, and will restart playing your Rythem box at the same place where you stopped the song. Even after a rewind or a fast forward on the 1680.
Good luck.

Wink

Check the drum machine manual to see if the MIDI implementation supports SPP,or Song Position Pointer. If it does, enable it.Also, find out if you can record a sync track from the drum machine onto the sync track on the 1680.I have a VS880EX,and that's how I do it;it works for me.Cheers!
