Midi question about the Roland Dr 770

Just wondering if anyone who does or has worked with the Dr 770 understands the Midi options. Ive most of i figured. But I was wondering how you change the instruments that would be played from another midi device. I can elaborate if that is not enought info. Thanx, pM
