I have a beautiful set of Jensen monitors that are like over 30 yrs old. I had to replace the woofers about 10 yrs ago due to deterioration. I replaced with some made in california that have been really good, but the foam is rotten already and separated about a 1/4 way around on one.

I guess the question is: Has any of you attempted a replacement of the surround using one of the kits and was it successful and without trouble?


(yeah, I`m kinda cheap but these are really nice and I wanna keep em running.
Parts Express has some surround kits but I haven`t eveer tried this myself.)

You might try a net search to see if the company that took over Hammond can help.

Also, the search in your area should bring up some folks who might offer some verbal help for doing the job.

This should fit in with your frugal nature.

anyways, I`m going to do the repair myself. I have another set of monitors that I can use but they take up more room.
