I heard that you can use a 15 pin joystick port to use as midi i/o.. so i bough the cable.. now how do i set up windows 98/cakewalk home studio to recognize it? doo i need soem special soft ware.. what?

You already have the software. Read the documentation in cakewalk and also the docs on your midi devices including your recorder if thats midi capable.

In Cakewalk, go to tools/midi and select (highlight) midi 330 as your midi in and out. This will select the joystick port.
