I am running Cool Edit and the new upgrade called Adobe Audition. I also have a guitarport and it works fine. You just have to configure Cool Edit to use the guitarport in the track you want to record on. I think you right click on the track and go to Recording Input, then select guitarport from among the choices.
It will be listed along with your soundcard etc.

p.s.
You cannot record the Guitarport backing tracks as Line6 has somehow set it up that if you are playing along with one of their backing tracks, only your guitar will record on the track.
Of course there are ways around this, but it would violate copyrights.

Exactly, it shows as a soundcard in your system.
Let me know if you need any more help.
I think the guitarport is a great learning tool and lots of fun.

my thoughts exactly

Im sure your right,,ive got a kramer that cost 400 new and it wont stay in tune!! ive been to all kind of forums about it and its a flaw in the guitar and tremelo, well i love that guitar and even though its gotta be tuned alot id prob. never let it go! my only regret is the price of it, so a 20 dollar guitar doesnt have a lot to live up too and as long as itll strum ill keep it around to ABUSE
