I can send a patch from my amp to my computer, but not the other way.
I have a Yamaha OPL3-Sax soundcard, and I just grabbed an adapter cord at radio shack to plug into my joystick port. (15 pin)
According to midi-ox, it IS sending the info, but my AX2 doesn't do a thing. The patches are written to load into the edit buffer, which should make the LED flash. It doesn't. I'm thinking I have something wrong with the way my soundcard is configured. In midi-ox, I have selected the OPL3-Sax MIDI OUT as the output port. (there's a synth port and another one I don't remember, but it makes no diff, I tried em all.)
I've also tried other sysex programs, still no luck. I'm hoping someone knows something about these Yamaha cards and whether there is an inherent problem with sending sysex thru the joystick port. Would it be an issue of telling midi-ox to use my joystick driver?
